Aircel is a mobile service provider in India. Aircel started providing GPRS services right since its establishment in India. Currently Aircel provides GPRS and 3G network services to its customers at a nominal cost. Subscribers of Aircel network can now use GRPS services provided by Aircel to connect to the internet, surf web pages, update and view blogs, upload and download web content.

In order to use the GPRS services, an Aircel subscriber needs to have a GPRS enabled phone. GPRS services are available to Prepaid and Post paid subscribers.

How to do AIRCEL GPRS Settings?

• Users can automatically download Aircel GPRS settings from the network by first sending an SMS to 57788 which contains GPRS BP <first three letters of handset name> <Model No.>
• Then send another SMS to 57788 after receiving a confirmation message from the network.
• Within 48 hours of the confirmation message Aircel GPRS is activated on your cell phone along with the settings which need to be saved on your phone.

Sometimes there exists a problem with the network which might prevent you from receiving the GPRS settings message. In such cases you will have to manually save the GPRS settings on your phone. In order to save the GPRS settings manually, you need to create a new access point. Most of the cell phone users can create a new access point by clicking Menu and then Settings and then Network. Under the network submenu one can find Access Point as an option. Upon selecting Access point the user can see a list of access points settings stored on the phone. Click Create New Access point.

Hibernation can’t be disabled

For all those who are not aware, Hibernation is process in which instead of shutting the system down every now and then, user can just allow it to hibernate, which means the system is in inactive mode but not shut down. It’s difficult to tell whether a system is hibernating or shut down by just looking at it since, externally it makes no difference. But internally hibernation is quite faster than shutdown and restores all opened documents and application when switched on. In short system state is restored in hibernation but not in shutdown.

Solution

For some reason people don’t want the system to hibernate and prefer shutting down instead. Its probably because every time they want to start fresh and don’t want the dependency of previous session on current work, which might be due to memory leaks, system hangs, RAM clutters etc. It has been a general observation that a restart restores the system to full vitality. Fortunately a work around is available to disable hibernation feature. One needs to open windows registry editor called Regedit. After opening regedit, browse to KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power and set ‘HibernateEnabled’ to zero. This small exercise will disable hibernation as required.

System too slow or black screen errors

If after a fresh Windows 7 installation your systems is running too slow or you are getting frequent black screen errors then, you need to check your hardware compatibility issues.
