In the start, the player is provided with a limited number of birds with a slingshot to use. Initially the birds are red in color but as and when the level advances, different colored birds emerge. For example the blue bird transforms into 3 birds after the launch, the yellow bird has the ability to increase the propulsion speed while in air, while a white bird is capable of dropping explosive eggs etc.
The pigs, that are the target of the possible hit can also appear in small and big shapes (sizes). A smaller pig is relatively easy to destroy (a single hit might do the job), while the bigger one may need more hits and energy. In the later stages of the game the pigs also appear wearing helmets making them more difficult to destroy and finish.

This game in spite of being uncomplicated in nature is highly awarded. IGN named Angry Birds as rank four best iPhone games in September 2010. In April this year, Angry Birds was awarded “App of the year” and “Best game App” at the prestigious UK Appy Awards. This game has also been awarded “Best game for Handheld Devices” to name a few.
After the initial release of game, it has been released different flavor and texture. Angry Birds Season, Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Magic are the special editions of the game that were developed post-initial release. The game now boasts of 300 million downloads all over the web, consisting of free as well as paid use altogether.
