After adding the url, google bots will crawl and index your website pages.

According to google they add and update new sites to their index each time their bots crawl the web but you can add or submit your url for faster crawling and indexing of the web pages. One thing that you should know is that google do not add all submitted url or pages to their index. Moreover they cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when will the urls appear in the search results or even if they will appear or not.
You are required to enter your full website or blog url including the http:// prefix. For example: http://www.geeksdesk.com/. You should also add comments and keywords in the comments field for letting know the google what your website or blog is all about and which describe your website in the best possible manner. Although this field does not affect the way in which your url will be indexed by google but it helps google in understanding your website or blog better.
One thing you should remember is that only the main url or top level page should be submitted to google. You do not need to submit each individual page to google as their crawler known as googlebot will be able to find the rest and index them automatically. Best aprt is Google updates its index on a regular basis so that you do not need to submit url on updation of your website or blog. Moreover all dead links are automatically de-indexed from google when it updates its index.
